La Galerie de Jean-Paul Lespagnard : Till We Drop
From January 29 to April 5, 2014, Galerie des Galeries hosts Till We Drop, the first personal show of the skillful fashion designer.
Former winner of the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Fashion Accessories in Hyères, and associate artist to the project: Mons, European Capital of Culture (2015), he imagined an exhibition matching his own image: quirky and engaged.
For this first monographic exhibition in Paris, Jean-Paul Lespagnard invited the visitors to explore his creative process. Inspired by his eponymous collection made in 2014 and presented in September 2013 in Paris, the exhibition evocates the exuberant settings of hotels located in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, and echoes a certain idea of artificial paradise. It is an overjoyed universe, made of transgression and freedom. Jean-Paul Lespagnard, dressed up as a bee, brings us in the midst of an itinerary punctuated with devices that portray rites, habits and customs of impulsive tourists, relived from any material contingency.
On the occasion of the coming of this proliferous artist in Galeries Lafayette, an entire circuit was dedicated to the project Till We Drop, in all the ground floor windows facing rue de la Chaussée d'Antin and on the first floor.
