From March 28 to June 25 2017, Galeries Lafayette celebrates the African continent with "Africa Now" and invites the artist Joël Andrianomearisoa to present a whirlpool of poetry under the cupola.

Galeries Lafayette invite their customers at the heart of a prestigious, luxury case that bring them in the midst of an irrational and enchanting place which triggers a unique experience. The company invites artists and creators to make original work in the middle of the department store and under its cupola, thereby enhancing this architectural heritage.

Coming from Madagascar, artist Joël Andrianomearisoa has imagined an installation for the cupola, conceived as an alternative way to go around the world. Le La tour du Monde is made of flags, of testimonies and accounts coming from Africa. It is a representation of a vivid, audacious Africa with no imagery. The project was built as a poetical playground, inviting visitors to lose themselves within.
