Galerie des Galeries is celebrating this anniversary with an exhibition designed by M/M (Paris). Three decades of stylistic and political archives are revisited through a large chronological mural and a series of runway videos which are further complemented by documentation from the National Audiovisual Institute (INA).

Founded in 1989 by Nathalie Dufour and currently presided by Guillaume Houzé, the ASSOCIATION NATIONALE POUR LE DÉVELOPPEMENT DES ARTS DE LA MODE (National Association for the Development of Fashion Arts) annual Fashion Award supports emerging French and international fashion talent.

Over a hundred winners have been granted since the launch of the ANDAM Fashion Award, including several of today’s most recognised fashion designers. Among them, Martin Margiela, Jean Touitou, Christophe Lemaire, Jeremy Scott, Gareth Pugh, Anthony Vaccarello, Alexandre Mattiussi, Glenn Martens: all have been recognised for their talent.

As artistic directors at luxury fashion houses, independent designers and researchers, these cutting edge creators have each, in their own way, changed the course of fashion. Their avant-garde approaches have become well established in their field, confirming the relevance of ANDAM award winners.

M/M (Paris)

Michaël Amzalag and Mathias Augustyniak met in 1989 at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and established M/M (Paris) in 1992.

M/M (Paris) has developed collaborations across cultural fields such as art, music, fashion, architecture, design and theatre. They understand their practice to be in the production of a series of signs, images as signifying entities, which they are constantly reshuffling to create their own language.

Rejecting the simple service-providing framework, they encourage a productive relationship with their clients who commission them to inspire experiences, and have thus built a number of long-term relationships.
