From 12 September to 16 December 2019, Galerie des Galeries is celebrating the 30th anniversary of ANDAM - Three decades of style, creativity and innovation that add up to a fashion memory that traces the socio-cultural changes of an era. Designed by M/M (Paris), the exhibition has used thirty years of stylistic and political archives to create a large chronological mural and a series of runway videos which are further complemented by documentation from the National Audiovisual Institute (INA).

Created on the initiative of Nathalie Dufour and chaired by Guillaume Houzé, ANDAM, (Association Nationale pour le Développement des Arts de la Mode / National Association for the Development of Fashion Arts) has organised a major competition every year since 1989 to nurture emerging talents in French and international fashion.

Since the award was launched, there have been more than a hundred winners, many of whom are now at the forefront of the fashion scene. They include Martin Margiela, Jean Touitou, Christophe Lemaire, Jeremy Scott, Gareth Pugh, Anthony Vaccarello, Alexandre Mattiussi and Glenn Martens ; all of whom have seen their talent recognised by ANDAM.

Whether as creative directors of luxury fashion houses, independent designers or leading researchers, these pioneering innovators have all changed the course of fashion in their own way. Time has proved the worth of these avant-garde visionaries, and also confirmed the pertinence of the ANDAM selections.

In 2017, ANDAM created the Innovation Prize, which rewards an supports innovative solutions that enable the development of a responsible and transparent fashion industry, which takes into account economic, ecological and social issues.

M/M (Paris)

Michaël Amzalag and Mathias Augustyniak met in 1989 at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and established M/M (Paris) in 1992.

M/M (Paris) has developed collaborations across cultural fields such as art, music, fashion, architecture, design and theatre. They understand their practice to be in the production of a series of signs, images as signifying entities, which they are constantly reshuffling to create their own language.

Rejecting the simple service-providing framework, they encourage a productive relationship with their clients who commission them to inspire experiences, and have thus built a number of long-term relationships.
